IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for (179) Klytaemnestra / TYC 1816-00496-1 on November 4/5, 2000 visible from SE Europe, NW Africa, Canary Islands and N Guyana, SE Venezuela, SE Colombia, NW Peru and SE Ecuador Summary
In the night of November 4/5, 2000 a 9.3 mag star TYC 1816-00496-1 = PPM 93491 will be occulted by a 81 km asteroid (179) Klytaemnestra. This update is based on USNO/Flagstaff astrometry for the asteroid and Tycho-2 star position.
The updated path shows ~1 path width north shift with time ~0.2 minutes earlier compared to Edwin Goffin's nominal prediction.
The path of this occultation runs over southern coast of Turkey ~2:12 UT, southern Greece ~2:13.5 UT, Malta ~2:14.5 UT, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco and over Canary Islands (Teide Observatory) ~2:19.5 UT. After crossing Atlantic Ocean path runs over N Guyana ~2:26.9 UT, SE Venezuela ~2:27.5 UT, SE Colombia ~2:28 UT, NW Peru and SE Ecuador around 2:29 UT.
