IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for (914) Palisana/ TYC 0762-03440-1 on December 8/9, 2001 visible from N Finland, Sweden, Denmark, SE England and W France Summary
In the night of December 8/9, 2001 a 10.6 mag star TYC 0762-03440-1 will be occulted by a 79 km asteroid (914) Palisana. This update is based on USNO/Flagstaff and TMO astrometry for the asteroid and combined UCAC and Tycho-2 star position.
The updated path shows ~4 path width south shift with time ~0.4 minutes earlier compared to Edwin Goffin's nominal prediction.
Updated path runs over north Finland ~0:24 UT, Sweden from NE to SW around 00:25 UT, north-east Denmark ~00:25.6 UT, south-east England with London ~00:26.5 UT and extreme west of France with Brest ~00:27 UT. Within path uncertainty is also SE Norway, NW Germany, NW Netherlands, NW Belgium and even extreme NW Spain. Please check the path chart for details.
