IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for
(569) Misa / TYC 1832-00585-1 on December 21, 2001
visible from Russia, Ukraine, Hungary, S Austria, N Italy,
S Switzerland, S France and NW Spain
Summary
In the night of December 21/22, 2001 a 10.7 mag star TYC 1832-00585-1 will be
occulted by a 76 km asteroid (569) Misa. This update is based on USNO/Flagstaff
astrometry for the asteroid and combined UCAC and Tycho-2 star position.
The updated path shows 0.5" north shift with time ~0.1 minutes earlier compared
to
Edwin Goffin's nominal prediction.
Updated path runs initially over China, Khazakhstan and ~21:51 UT over
south Russia. At 21:52-21:53 UT path runs over Ukraine and at ~21:54 UT
path runs along Ukraine/Romania border and north Moldavia. Hungary is
crossed at ~21:55 UT with Budapest in path. Around 21:56 UT path runs
over south Austria and later north Italy and south Switzerland ~21:57 UT.
Around 21:58 UT path runs over south France with Bourdeaux in path 21:58.6 UT
and later also NE Spain around 22:00 UT. Within path uncertainties are other areas, namely Slovakia ~21:55 UT.
