                           IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for
              (81) Terpsichore / TYC 6156-00764-1 on January 13/14, 2002
visible from S Ireland, Cornwall, France from west to SE

    Summary

In the morning of night January 13/14, 2002 a faint 11.2 mag star TYC 6156-00764-1 will be occulted by a 124 km asteroid (81) Terpsichore. This update is based on USNO/Flagstaff, TMO and Astdys historic astrometry for the asteroid and UCAC1 star position.

The updated path shows ~0.4 path width north shift with no time shift compared to Edwin Goffin's nominal prediction.

Updated path runs over south Ireland 6:18.6 UT, Cornwall ~6:19.0 UT, France from west to SE ~6:19.4 UT. Within expected error bar is also NE Spain with Barcelona, whole Ireland, SE England and most of France. Recent accurate astrometry helped to refine the path and reduce the uncertainty. Please check the path chart for details.

    Good luck !

Path uncertainties are larger than I would like to have, but no recent accurate astrometry is available to refine the path. Please check the path chart for details.
