IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for
(524) Fidelio / TYC 1903-00310-1 on March 7, 2002
visible from Sweden, W Latvia, W Lithuania, W Belarus, NE Poland
W Ukraine, E Romania, E Bulgaria, W Turkey and Sinai peninsula
Summary
In the evening of March 7, 2002 a 10.6 mag star TYC 1903-00310-1 will be occulted by a 74 km asteroid (524) Fidelio. This update is based on USNO/Flagstaff and TMO astrometry for the asteroid and UCAC star position.
The updated path shows ~3 path width east shift with time ~0.4 minutes earlier compared to Edwin Goffin's nominal prediction.
Updated path runs from north to south over north Sweden ~20:09 UT, W Latvia ~20:11 UT, W Lithuania ~20:11.5 UT, W Belarus and NE Poland ~20:12.5 UT, W Ukraine ~20:13.5 UT, E Romania ~20:15 UT, E Bulgaria 20:15.5 UT, W Turkey ~20:17 UT and Sinai peninsula ~20:20 UT. Much larger area is covered taking uncertainty into consideration. Please check the path chart for details.
Clear sky and good luck !!!
