                        IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for
              (1107) Lictoria / TYC 1898-00944-1 on March 9, 2002
          visible from NW Spain, middle France, Switzerland, S Germany,
           Austria, Slovakia, Ukraine, S Russia, Khazachstan and China
    
    Summary 

    In the evening of March 9, 2002 a 11.4 mag star TYC 1898-00944-1 will be occulted by a 81 km asteroid (1107) Lictoria. This update is based on USNO/Flagstaff astrometry for the asteroid and UCAC star position.

    The updated path shows ~9 path width north shift with time ~0.1 minutes earlier compared to Edwin Goffin's nominal prediction.

    Updated path runs over very NW Spain ~19:00.5 UT, France from SW to NE - just north of Bordeaux ~19:02 UT, Limoges is in path ~19:02.6 UT, Clermont-Ferrand is on south limit ~19:03 UT while Besancon is on north limit ~19:03.7 UT, north Switzerland follows with Bern and Zurich in path, south Germany with Munich on north limit ~19:05 UT, north Austria with Vienna on central line around 19:05.9 UT, whole Slovakia around ~19:06.5 UT, Ukraine from east to west from 19:07 to 19:10 UT, south Russia ~19:11 UT with Volgograd in path. Follows Khazachstan with Alma-Ata ~19:16.5 UT and finally China 19:17-19:19 UT. Larger area is covered taking uncertainty into consideration. Please check the path chart for details.

        About 50' south of target is 5.7 mag star SAO 78816. It is a dense star field, be sure to
        have enough time to locate the correct star. Purple stars in identification chart are so called
        'non-star' objects in GSC; in dense fields the 'non-stars' are often real stars or blends of close
        pairs. Be careful.
