IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for (12) Victoria / HIP 42084 = SAO 116904 on April 27, 2002 visible from N South Africa, S Mozambique and S Madagascar Summary
In the evening of April 27, 2002 a 8.9 mag star HIP 42084 = SAO 116904 will be occulted by a 117 km asteroid (12) Victoria. This update is based on USNO/Flagstaff and TMO astrometry for the asteroid and Hipparcos star position.
The updated path shows no path shift with time 0.1 minutes later compared to Edwin Goffin's nominal prediction.
Updated path runs over north of South Africa ~16:17.0 UT, south Mozambique ~16:17.5 UT and south Madagascar around 16:19 UT. Reunion is ~1 path width north of path ~16:20.3 UT. Within uncertainties is somewhat larger area. Please check the path chart for details.
Clear sky and good luck !!!
