    Summary

In the night of September 7/8, 2002 a 10.2 mag star TYC 6856-00326-1 will be occulted by a 89 km asteroid (110) Lydia. This update is based on USNO/Flagstaff and TMO astrometry for the asteroid and UCAC1 star position.

The updated path shows ~2.5 path width south shift with time ~0.8 minutes earlier compared to Edwin Goffin's nominal prediction.

Updated path runs just over very south of South America ~22:41.5 UT and later Namibia ~22:54.5 UT, Botswana ~22:55.1 UT and Zimbabwe 22:55.6 UT. There are probably no observers there. Please check the path chart for details.

Clear sky and good luck !!!

Purple stars in identification chart are so called 'non-star' objects in GSC; in dense fields
the 'non-stars' are often real stars or blends of close pairs. Be careful.
