IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for
(1049) Gotho / TYC 3359-00341-1 on November 13, 2002
visible from Alaska, E Norway and England
Summary
In the night of November 13, 2002 a faint 11.1 mag star TYC 3359-00341-1 will be occulted by a 58 km asteroid (1049) Gotho. This update is based on USNO/Flagstaff and TMO astrometry for the asteroid and Tycho-2 position.
The updated path shows ~7 path width west shift with time correction +1.4 minutes compared to Edwin Goffin's nominal prediction.
Updated path runs over western coast of Alaska ~16:46-16:49 UT, almost over north pole and then hits west coast of Norway ~16:58 UT and England ~16:58.9 UT, just west of London. NW France is also in path but at very low altitudes and evening twilight ~16:59 UT. Please check the path chart for details.
Clear sky and good luck !!!

!!! IMPORTANT !!!
Purple stars in identification chart are so called 'non-star' objects in GSC; in dense fields
the 'non-stars' are often real stars or blends of close pairs. Be careful about this.
