(170) Maria / TYC 2852-00588-1 on November 13/14, 2002
visible from Russia, N Belarus, Latvia, S Sweden, S Norway, Iceland,
Canada and USA
Summary
In the night of November 13/14, 2002 a faint 11.1 mag star TYC 2852-00588-1
will be occulted by a 46 km asteroid (170) Maria. This update is based on
USNO/Flagstaff and TMO astrometry for the asteroid and Tycho-2 position.
The updated path shows ~7 path width south shift with time correction -1.0 minutes compared to
Edwin Goffin's nominal prediction.
Updated path runs over mid-south Russia ~3:22 UT, N Belarus ~3:22.6 UT, Latvia ~3:23 with Riga in path,
S Sweden ~3:23.6 UT with Stockoholm in path, S Norway ~3:24 UT, Iceland ~3:26 UT and after crossing
Atlantic Ocean also Canada 3:29 -> 3:32 UT and USA 3:33 -> 3:37 UT.
