IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for
(1049) Gotho / TYC 3358-00173-1 on November 18/19, 2002
visible from Japan, China, far East, Siberia, N Russia,
Finland, S Sweden, very S Norway and England
Summary
In the night of November 18/19, 2002 a 9.6 mag star TYC 3358-00173-1
will be occulted by a 58 km asteroid (1049) Gotho. This update is based on
USNO/Flagstaff and TMO astrometry for the asteroid and Tycho-2 position.
The updated path shows ~6 path width west shift with time correction +1.3 minutes compared to
Edwin Goffin's nominal prediction.
Updated path runs over Japan ~19:55 UT, China ~19:57 UT, far East and Siberia ~19:59->20:03 UT,
N Russia ~20:04->20:06 UT, Finland ~20:06.6 UT, S Sweden ~20:07.6 UT, very S Norway ~20:08.0 UT
and England ~20:09.0 UT. Please check the path chart for details.
