                        IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for
                (844) Leontina / TYC 2361-01655-1 on November 17/18, 2002
           visible from middle East, S Italy, Sardegna, N Spain and S France,
                         later USA from NE to SW and N Mexico
    
    Summary 

    In the night of November 17/18, 2002 a faint 11.5 mag star TYC 2361-01655-1 will be occulted by a 66 km asteroid (844) Leontina. This update is based on USNO/Flagstaff astrometry for the asteroid and recent UCAC star position.

    The updated path shows ~2 path width north shift with time 0.7 minutes later compared to Edwin Goffin's nominal prediction.

    Updated path runs over middle East and N Egypt with Alexandria ~2:57.5 UT, S Italy ~2:58.8 UT, Sardinia ~2:59.5 UT, N Spain and S France in the Pyrenees area ~3:00.3 UT, later USA from NE to SW (New York to Texas) 3:07 -> 3:10 UT and N Mexico around ~3:10.5 UT.
