IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for
(301) Bavaria / TYC 4669-00528-1 on November 30, 2002
visible from Morocco, NW Algeria, S Sardegna, Italy, frm.Yugoslavia,
Romania and S Ukraine
Summary
In the evening of November 30, 2002 a faint 11.3 mag star TYC 4669-00528-1 will be occulted by a 56 km asteroid (301) Bavaria. This update is based on USNO/Flagstaff and TMO astrometry for the asteroid and recent UCAC star position.
The updated path shows ~6 path width south shift with time 0.9 minutes earlier compared to Edwin Goffin's nominal prediction.
Updated path runs over Morocco from SW to NE ~21:26->21:38 UT, NW Algeria ~21:39 UT, S Sardegna ~21:39.8 UT, Italy south of Rome ~21:40.4 UT, frm.Yugoslavia ~21:41 UT, Romania just N of Bucharest ~21:41.3 UT and S Ukraine ~21:41.7 UT with Odesa on north limit.
