IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for
(120) Lachesis / TYC 2425-00155-1 on December 24, 2002
visible from Alaska, Norway, Sweden, Denamrk and England
Summary
In the evening of night of December 24/25, 2002 a faint 11.5 mag star TYC 2425-00155-1 will be occulted by a 178 km asteroid (120) Lachesis. This update is based on USNO/Flagstaff and TMO astrometry for the asteroid and recent UCAC star position.
The updated path shows ~1 path width northwest shift with time 0.9 minutes earlier compared to Edwin Goffin's nominal prediction.
Updated path runs over Alaska ~18:28 UT, Norway and Sweden 16:33.5 UT to 16:34.9 UT, western Denmark ~16:35.1 UT, and England ~16:35.5 UT at low altitudes and twilight. Please check the path chart for details.
