                        IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for
              (509) Iolanda / TYC 0110-00178-1 on December 28/29, 2002
             visible from Khazachtan, S Russia, Crymean peninsula, Romania,
       frm. Yugoslavia, mid-north Italy, S France, N Spain, N Portugal and Florida
    
    Summary 

    In the night of December 28/29, 2002 a faint 12.2 mag star TYC 0110-00178-1 will be occulted by a 59 km asteroid (509) Iolanda. This update is based on USNO/Flagstaff and TMO astrometry for the asteroid and recent UCAC star position.

    The updated path shows ~10 path width south shift with time 0.3 minutes earlier compared to Edwin Goffin's nominal prediction.

    Updated path runs over Khazachtan ~22:44 UT, S Russia ~22:45 UT, Crimean peninsula 22:46 UT, Romania ~22:47 UT, frm. Yugoslavia ~22:47.6 UT with Belgrade in path, mid-north Italy ~22:48.5 UT, S France ~22:49 UT with Nice and Marseille on north limit, N Spain ~22:50 UT, N Portugal ~22:50.9 UT with Porto in path and finally south Florida ~22:58.6 UT in evening twilight.
