(1295) Deflotte / TYC 1351-00864-1 on January 23/24, 2003
visible from N India, S Pakistan Iran, Turkey, NE Greece,
N Albania, mid-north Italy and S France
Summary
In the night of January 23/24, 2003 a faint 11.3 mag star TYC 1351-00864-1
will be occulted by a 52 km asteroid (1295) Deflotte. This update is based on
USNO/Flagstaff and Geneva astrometry for the asteroid and recent UCAC star position.
The updated path shows ~5 path width north shift with time 2.4 minutes later compared to
Edwin Goffin's nominal prediction.
Updated path runs over N India around 22:14 UT, S Pakistan ~22:15.5 UT, Iran around 22:17 UT,
Turkey around 22:19 UT, NE Greece ~22:20.5 UT, N Albania ~22:21 UT, mid-north Italy ~22:22.2 UT
and S France around 22:23.2 UT.
