                        IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for
               (142) Polana / TYC 0827-00902-1 on January 24/25, 2003
          visible from Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, NE Algeria, Spain, Portugal
                          and Canada from east to west
    
    Summary 

    In the night of January 24/25, 2003 a faint 10.7 mag star TYC 0827-00902-1 will be occulted by a 80 km asteroid (142) Polana. This update is based on USNO/Flagstaff and TMO astrometry for the asteroid and recent UCAC star position.

    The updated path shows ~3 path width east shift with time 1.0 minutes later compared to Edwin Goffin's nominal prediction.

    Updated path runs over Egypt ~4:07.8 UT, Libya ~4:08.5 UT, Tunisia ~4:10.0 UT, NE Algeria ~4:10.5 UT, Spain just south of Madrid ~4:12.0 UT, Portugal with Porto in path ~4:12.6 UT and Canada from east to west 4:19 to 4:25 UT. Please check the path chart for details.
