                        IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for
               (170) Maria / TYC 1885-01254-1 on February 1/2, 2003
      visible from frm.Yugoslavia, Bulgaria, Turkey, Iran, S Pakistan and India
    
    Summary 

    In the night of February 1/2, 2003 a faint 10.8 mag star TYC 1885-01254-1 will be occulted by a 46 km asteroid (170) Maria. This update is based on USNO/Flagstaff and TMO astrometry for the asteroid and recent UCAC star position.

    The updated path shows ~7 path width south shift with time 0.6 minutes later compared to Edwin Goffin's nominal prediction.

    Updated path runs over frm.Yugoslavia ~16:37.5 UT, north Bulgaria ~16:38.3 UT, Turkey around 16:39.5 UT, Iran 16:40-16:42 UT, S Pakistan ~16:42.6 UT and India around 16:43.8 UT. Please check the path chart for details.
