                        IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for
               (200) Dynamene / TYC 1804-01573-1 on March 13/14, 2003
       visible from Norway, Sweden, SW Finland, Estonia, NE Latvia and Russia

    Summary

    In the night of March 13/14, 2003 a faint 11.1 mag star TYC 1804-01573-1 will be occulted by a 132 km asteroid (200) Dynamene. This update is based on USNO/Flagstaff and TMO astrometry for the asteroid and recent UCAC star position.

    The updated path shows ~2.5 path width north shift with time 0.1 minutes later compared to Edwin Goffin's nominal prediction.

    Updated path runs over middle Norway ~20:40.8 UT, middle Sweden ~20:40.9 UT, SW Finland ~20:41.1 UT with Turku in path and Helsinki on north limit, Estonia ~20:41.2 UT, NE Latvia ~20:41.3 UT and finally Russia around 20:41.4 UT. Please check the path chart for details.

    Clear sky and good luck !!!

     * uncertainty [path widths]: 0.7
     * uncertainty in time [s]: 4
     * map: below
     * remarks: Path uncertainties are given according to nominal star
        position errors and expected asteroid positional accuracy.

    Data for the target star:
     * name: TYC 1804-01573-1
     * constellation: Taurus
     * J2000 position [h,m,s; o,',"]: 03h 53m 42.9313s; +26o 00' 59.310"
     * position source: recent UCAC position combined with Tycho-2 proper motion
     * estimated accuracy ["]: 0.03" (0.02", 0.03")
     * V mag [mag]: 11.06
     * B-V [mag]: +0.87
     * remarks:
        Target star is in N Taurus, about 2.5 degrees NE of open cluster M45. Should be easy to find.
        !!! IMPORTANT !!!
        Purple stars in identification chart are so called 'non-star' objects in GSC; in dense fields
        the 'non-stars' are often real stars or blends of close pairs. Be careful about this.

    Close finding chart (prepared in GUIDE8):
     * occulted star is in center - labeled with cross
     * field is 4.0x4.0 degrees
     * limiting magnitude is 12.0
     * labeled stars have indicated SAO numbers
     * remarks: Second chart is 30' blowup to show correctly the target star in the field.
