                        IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for
               (159) Aemilia / TYC 0858-00862-1 on March 25/26, 2003
            visible from Caucasus, very SW Russia, Ukraine, SW Belarus,
                         NE Poland, S Sweden and S Norway

    Summary

    In the night of March 25/26, 2003 a faint 11.5 mag star TYC 0858-00862-1 will be occulted by a 131 km asteroid (159) Aemilia. This update is based on USNO/Flagstaff for the asteroid and recent UCAC star position.

    The updated path shows ~2.0 path width south shift with time 0.7 minutes later compared to Edwin Goffin's nominal prediction.

    Updated path runs over Caucasus ~23:09.5 UT, very SW Russia ~23:10.2 UT with Krasnodar on north limit, Ukraine ~23:11.5 UT with Kiev and Dnepropetrovsk just north of limit, SW Belarus ~23:12.5 UT, NE Poland ~23:12.7 UT, S Sweden ~23:13.9 UT and S Norway ~23:14.5 UT. Please check the path chart for details.

    This update was computed with a Beta version of Winoccult, so you can notice a slightly different path chart header and more items in table of path limits (still more columns to appear there in future). OCCELMNT files should be compatible. Clear sky and good luck !!!

     * V mag [mag]: 11.47
     * B-V [mag]: +0.86
     * remarks:
        Target star is in middle-south Leo, about 4.7 degrees south of 3.3 mag star theta Leonis = SAO 99512
        or 1.7 degrees west of 4.0 mag star iota Leonis = SAO 99587. Target star itself is in a group of stars,
        check the detailed chart for details.
        !!! IMPORTANT !!!
        Purple stars in identification chart are so called 'non-star' objects in GSC; in dense fields
        the 'non-stars' are often real stars or blends of close pairs. Be careful about this.

    Close finding chart (prepared in GUIDE8):
     * occulted star is in center - labeled with cross
     * field is 4.0x4.0 degrees
     * limiting magnitude is 12.5
     * labeled stars have indicated SAO numbers
     * remarks: Second chart is 30' blowup to show correctly the target star in the field.
