                        IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for
             (96) Aegle / TYC 6911-01232-1 = SAO 189366 on August 3/4, 2003
     visible from Khazachstan, S Russia, N Ukraine, Belarus, Lithuania and N Poland

    Summary

    In the night of August 3/4, 2003 a faint 10.1 mag star TYC 6911-01232-1 = SAO 189366 will be occulted by a 174 km asteroid (96) Aegle. This update is based on USNO/Flagstaff and La Silla astrometry for the asteroid and UCAC2-beta star position.

    The updated path shows ~0.5 path width south shift with time ~0.3 minutes later compared to Edwin Goffin's nominal prediction.

    Updated path runs due to north shift over Khazachstan ~20:56.5 UT, S Russia ~20:57.7 UT, N Ukraine ~20:58.5 UT, Belarus ~20:59.0 UT, Lithuania ~20:59.2 UT and N Poland ~20:59.5 UT. On all places the star will be less than 20 degrees above horizon. Please check the path chart for details.

    Clear sky and good luck !!!

        !!! IMPORTANT !!!
        Purple stars in identification chart are so called 'non-star' objects in GSC; in dense fields
        the 'non-stars' are often real stars or blends of close pairs. Be careful about this.

    Close finding chart (prepared in GUIDE8):
     * occulted star is in center - labeled with cross
     * field is 3.0x3.0 degrees
     * limiting magnitude is 13.0
     * labeled stars have indicated SAO numbers
     * remarks: Second chart shows 30' blowup to show correctly the star in field.
