                     IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for
           (611) Valeria / TYC 5196-01051-1 on August 31/September 1, 2003
                visible from N Norway, W Venezuela and Columbia
    
    Summary 

    In the night of August 31/September 1, 2003 a faint 11.4 mag star TYC 5196-01051-1 will be occulted by a 57 km asteroid (611) Valeria. This update is based on USNO/Flagstaff astrometry for the asteroid and UCAC2 star position.

    The updated path shows ~2 path width north shift with time ~1.1 minutes later compared to Edwin Goffin's nominal prediction.

    Updated path runs due to north shift over N Norway ~23:57.8 UT and later over west Venezuela around 0:07.9 UT with Caracas on south limit and Columbia around 0:8.8 UT with Medellin on north limit. Please check the path chart for details.
