                      IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for
             (218) Bianca / TYC 0099-00113-1 on November 13/14, 2003
        visible from Slovenia, N Italy, S France, NW Spain and Costarica

    Summary

    In the night of November 13/14, 2003 a faint 11.3 mag star TYC 0099-00113-1 will be occulted by a 62 km asteroid (218) Bianca. This update is based on USNO/Flagstaff astrometry for the asteroid and UCAC2 star position.

    The updated path shows ~1.5 path width south shift with time ~0.6 minute later earlier compared to Edwin Goffin's nominal prediction.

    Updated path runs due to south shift over Slovenia ~5:39.5 UT in strong morning twilight, N Italy ~5:39.7 UT, S France around 5:39.9 UT, NW Spain around 5:40.4 UT and finally Costarica ~5:50.0 UT. Please check the path chart for details.

    Clear sky and good luck !!!

        !!! IMPORTANT !!!
        Purple stars in identification chart are so called 'non-star' objects in GSC; in dense fields
        the 'non-stars' are often real stars or blends of close pairs. Be careful about this.

    Close finding chart (prepared in GUIDE8):
     * occulted star is in center - labeled with cross
     * field is 3.0x3.0 degrees
     * limiting magnitude is 12.5
     * labeled stars have indicated SAO numbers
     * remarks: Second chart shows 30' blowup to show correctly the star in field.
