IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for (521) Brixia / TYC 2422-00833-1 on March 6/7, 2004 visible from S Spain, Mallorca, Sardinia, S Italy, S Albania, N Greece, Turkey, N Iran, S Afghanistan, Pakistan and N India Summary
In the night of March 6/7, 2004 a faint 11.5 mag star TYC 2422-00833-1 will be occulted by a 103 km asteroid (521) Brixia. This update is based on USNO/Flagstaff and TMO astrometry for the asteroid and UCAC2 star position.
The updated path shows ~0.5 path width north shift with time 0.2 minutes earlier compared to Edwin Goffin's nominal prediction.
Updated path runs over S Spain ~18:31.0 UT, Mallorca ~18:31.6 UT, Sardinia ~18:32.6 UT, S Italy ~18:33.6 UT, S Albania ~18:34.3 UT, N Greece ~18:34.6 UT, Turkey ~18:36.5 UT, N Iran ~18:39 UT, S Afghanistan ~18:40.5 UT, Pakistan ~18:41.3 UT and N India ~18:42.5 UT. Target is NE and slightly brighter star in 14" wide pair.
