IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for
(569) Misa / TYC 6875-02039-1 on June 22/23, 2004
visible from S Russia, NW Turkey, Greece, Tunisia and NW Africa
Summary
In the night of June 22/23, 2004 a faint 11.3 mag star TYC 6875-02039-1 will be occulted by a 76 km asteroid (569) Misa. This update is based on USNO/Flagstaff astrometry for the asteroid and UCAC2 star position.
The updated path shows ~1" south shift compared to Eric Frappa's nominal prediction.
Updated path runs over Africa ~23:35-23:42 UT. Please check the path chart for details.
There exist more than 1" difference in position Tycho-2 vs. UCAC2. This update is based on UCAC2 position. Using Tycho-2 position gives path ~1.4 path width south of Frappa's nominal path, no time shift and ~0.4" uncertainty.
Clear sky and good luck !!!

Finding charts (prepared in GUIDE8):
* occulted star is in center - labeled with cross
* labeled stars have indicated SAO numbers
* (smaller) square box shows 30' field in all wider field charts
* (larger) square box shows 3° field in wide field charts
* remarks:
Target star is in N Sagittarius, about 3.0 degrees southeast of 2.9 mag star pi Sagittarii = SAO 187756.
!!! IMPORTANT !!!
Purple stars in identification chart are so called 'non-star' objects in GSC; in dense fields
the 'non-stars' are often real stars or blends of close pairs. Be careful about this.
