IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for (1712) Angola / TYC 2251-00099-1 on August 14/15, 2004 visible from S Norway in strong twilight, S Iceland, S Greenland and Canada Summary
In the night of August 14/15, 2004 a bright 9.5 mag star TYC 2251-00099-1 will be occulted by a 66 km asteroid (1712) Angola. This update is based on USNO/Flagstaff and TMO astrometry for the asteroid and UCAC2 star position.
The updated path shows large ~11 path width north shift with time ~3.0 minutes earlier compared to Edwin Goffin's nominal prediction.
Updated path runs over S Norway in strong twilight ~3:39.2 UT, S Iceland ~3:42.5 UT, S Greenland ~3:45 UT and Canada. Please check the path chart for details.

IMPORTANT !!! Purple stars in identification chart are so called 'non-star' objects in GSC; in dense fields the 'non-stars' are often real stars or blends of close pairs.
