                         IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for
             (638) Moira / TYC 1286-00191-1 = SAO 94339 on September 15/16, 2004
           visible from S Ireland, England, N Netherlands and N Germany in twilight

    Summary

    In the night of September 15/16, 2004 a bright 8.8 mag star TYC 1286-00191-1 = SAO 94339 will be occulted by a 68 km asteroid (638) Moira. This update is based on USNO/Flagstaff and TMO astrometry for the asteroid and Tycho-2 star position.

    The updated path shows small ~1 path width north shift with time ~0.2 minute later compared to Edwin Goffin's nominal prediction.

    Updated path runs over S Ireland ~4:30.0 UT, England ~4:30.6 UT, N Netherlands ~4:31.5 UT and N Germany in twilight around 4:31.9 UT. Please check the path chart for details.

    Finding charts (prepared in GUIDE8):
     * occulted star is in center - labeled with cross
     * labeled stars have indicated SAO numbers
     * (smaller) square box shows 30' field in all wider field charts
     * (larger) square box shows 3° field in wide field charts
     * remarks:
       Target star is in south Taurus, about 7.7 degrees east of 1.0 mag star alpha Tauri = SAO 94027 = Aldebaran.
       !!! IMPORTANT !!!
       Purple stars in identification chart are so called 'non-star' objects in GSC; in dense fields
       the 'non-stars' are often real stars or blends of close pairs. Be careful about this.
