                         IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for
             (63) Ausonia / TYC 1921-02606-1 = SAO 79224 on October 14/15, 2004
         visible from Ireland, Scotland, S Norway, mid-Sweden, Finland and N Russia

    Summary

    In the night of October 14/15, 2004 a bright 9.6 mag star TYC 1921-02606-1 = SAO 79224 will be occulted by a 108 km asteroid (63) Ausonia. This update is based on USNO/Flagstaff, TMO, CAMC and Bordeaux astrometry for the asteroid and UCAC2 star position.

    The updated path shows ~0.5 path width north shift with time ~0.1 minute earlier compared to Edwin Goffin's nominal prediction.

    Updated path runs over Ireland ~1:56.6 UT, Scotland ~1:57.0 UT, S Norway ~1:58.0 UT, mid-Sweden ~1:58.5 UT, Finland ~1:59.2 UT and N Russia around 2:00 UT. Please check the path chart for details.

    Finding charts (prepared in GUIDE8):
     * occulted star is in center - labeled with cross
     * labeled stars have indicated SAO numbers
     * (smaller) square box shows 30' field in all wider field charts
     * (larger) square box shows 3° field in wide field charts
     * remarks:
       Target star is in middle Gemini, about 2.3 degrees WNW of 3.8 mag star iota Geminorum = SAO 79374
       or 37' N of 5.7 mag star 53 Geminorum = SAO 79221.
       !!! IMPORTANT !!!
       Purple stars in identification chart are so called 'non-star' objects in GSC; in dense fields
       the 'non-stars' are often real stars or blends of close pairs. Be careful about this.
