                         IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for
             (402) Chloe / TYC 0771-01046-1 on October 23/24, 2004
             visible from N Scotland, S Norway, S Sweden, N Latvia,
                           S Estonia and Russia

    Summary

    In the night of October 23/24, 2004 a faint 12.1 mag star TYC 0771-01046-1 will be occulted by a 58 km asteroid (402) Chloe. This update is based on USNO/Flagstaff and TMO astrometry for the asteroid and UCAC2 star position.

    The updated path shows ~3 path width N shift with time ~0.4 minute earlier compared to Edwin Goffin's nominal prediction.

    Updated path runs over N Scotland ~1:09.0 UT, S Norway ~1:09.7 UT, S Sweden ~1:10.1 UT, N Latvia ~1:10.7 UT, S Estonia ~1:10.8 UT and Russia ~1:11.0->1:14.0 UT. Please check the path chart for details.

    Finding charts (prepared in GUIDE8):
     * occulted star is in center - labeled with cross
     * labeled stars have indicated SAO numbers
     * (smaller) square box shows 30' field in all wider field charts
     * (larger) square box shows 3° field in wide field charts
     * remarks:
       Target star is in N Canis Minor, about 4.5 degrees NW of 2.9 mag star beta Canis Minoris = SAO 115456
       or 42' east of 5.7 mag star SAO 96672.
       !!! IMPORTANT !!!
       Purple stars in identification chart are so called 'non-star' objects in GSC; in dense fields
       the 'non-stars' are often real stars or blends of close pairs. Be careful about this.
