IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for (30) Urania / TYC 1900-00951-1 on November 1/2, 2004 visible from England, N Netherlands, N Germany, N Poland, Lithuania, N Belarus, Russia and N Khazachstan Summary
In the night of November 1/2, 2004 a faint 11.0 mag star TYC 1900-00951-1 will be occulted by a 104 km asteroid (30) Urania. This update is based on USNO/Flagstaff, TMO and HIP/Tycho astrometry for the asteroid and UCAC2 star position.
The updated path shows ~0.5 path width N shift with no time shift compared to Edwin Goffin's nominal prediction.
Updated path runs over England ~1:14.0 UT, N Netherlands ~1:15.0 UT, N Germany ~1:15.9 UT, N Poland ~1:17.0 UT, Lithuania ~1:18.1 UT, N Belarus ~1:18.9 UT, Russia ~1:20-1:25 UT and N Khazachstan around 1:27 UT. Please check the path chart for details.
Here is current station list for European cities and observatories plus other sites.

Event has only 0.9 mag drop expected, so it will not be an easy event for visual observers. Moreover the almost full Moon will be only ~12 degrees WNW of target making location harder than usual.
Clear sky and good luck !!!

Finding charts (prepared in GUIDE8): * occulted star is in center - labeled with cross * labeled stars have indicated SAO numbers * (smaller) square box shows 30' field in all wider field charts * (larger) square box shows 3° field in wide field charts * remarks: Target star is in middle Gemini, about 3.0 degrees NW of 3.5 mag star delta Geminorum = SAO 79294. !!! IMPORTANT !!! Purple stars in identification chart are so called 'non-star' objects in GSC; in dense fields the 'non-stars' are often real stars or blends of close pairs.
