                    IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for
             (78) Diana / HIP 115624 = SAO 146698 on September 01/02, 2005
             visible from S Russia, N Greece, S Bulgaria, Albania, S Italy,
                     S Sardinia, S Spain, N Cuba and middle Mexico

    Summary

    In the night of September 01/02, 2005 a bright 9.4 mag star HIP 115624 = SAO 146698 will be occulted by a 116 km asteroid (78) Diana. This update is based on USNO/Flagstaff and TMO astrometry for the asteroid and UCAC2 star position.

    The updated path shows ~1.5 path width north shift with time ~0.3 minutes later compared to Edwin Goffin's nominal prediction.

    Updated path runs over S Russia ~2:12.3 UT, N Greece ~2:13.3 UT, S Bulgaria ~2:13.2 UT, Albania ~2:13.5 UT, S Italy ~2:13.7 UT, S Sardinia ~2:14.4 UT, S Spain ~2:15.5 UT, N Cuba ~2:24.0 UT and middle Mexico ~2:25.1 UT. Please check the path chart for details.

    Finding charts (prepared in GUIDE8):
     * occulted star is in center - labeled with cross
     * labeled stars have indicated SAO numbers
     * (smaller) square box shows 30' field in all wider field charts
     * (larger) square box shows 3° field in wide field charts
     * remarks:
       Target star is in SW Pisces, about 1.5 degrees SSW of 4.9 mag star kappa Piscii = SAO 128186.
       !!! IMPORTANT !!!
       Purple stars in identification chart are so called 'non-star' objects in GSC; in dense fields
       the 'non-stars' are often real stars or blends of close pairs. Be careful about this.
