                      IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for
       (573) Recha / UCAC2 43227495 = GSC 2375-03203 on September 26/27, 2005
             visible from Africa, Greece, W Bulgaria, Romania, W Ukraine,
                              E Belarus and NW Russia

    Summary

    In the night of September 26/27, 2005 a faint 12.3 mag star UCAC2 43227495 = GSC 2375-03203 will be occulted by a 51 km asteroid (573) Recha. This update is based on USNO/Flagstaff astrometry for the asteroid and UCAC2 star position.

    The updated path shows ~15 path width east shift with time ~1.7 minutes earlier compared to Edwin Goffin's nominal prediction.

    Updated path runs over Africa, Greece ~2:20.5 UT, W Bulgaria ~2:21.5 UT, Romania ~2:22.4 UT, W Ukraine ~2:23.5 UT, E Belarus ~2:24.5 UT and NW Russia ~2:25-2:29 UT. Please check the path chart for details.

    Finding charts (prepared in GUIDE8):
     * occulted star is in center - labeled with cross
     * labeled stars have indicated SAO numbers
     * (smaller) square box shows 30' field in all wider field charts
     * (larger) square box shows 3° field in wide field charts
     * remarks:
       Target star is in south Perseus, about 4.0 degrees ENE of 2.9 mag star zeta Persei = SAO 56799.
       !!! IMPORTANT !!!
       Purple stars in identification chart are so called 'non-star' objects in GSC; in dense fields
       the 'non-stars' are often real stars or blends of close pairs. Be careful about this.
